General Manager – Auburn Board of Public Works, www.Auburnbpw.com 

Responsibilities:  Direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate activities and operation of all electrical, water, and wastewater facilities, systems, and personnel.  Coordinate assigned activities with other utility departments and provide highly responsive and complex administrative support to the Electric Operations Manager, the Water/Wastewater Manager, and the Accounting and Finance Manager.

 Qualifications:  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in  Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Energy, or Water Engineering, Business Administration, or Energy Management; or a combination or education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a field related to utility management.  Five years of increasingly responsible experience in utility operation, maintenance, or engineering with at least three years of supervisory and/or administrative experience.  Must possess a valid State driver’s license and live within Nemaha County – not more than 12 driving miles from 1600 O Street, Auburn.  Background check, MVR check,
drug screen, and physical required.

The Auburn BPW  (www.Auburnbpw.com)jas an immediate opening in their Water/Wastewater Department. Candidate must be at least 18 years of age, must have a high school diploma, a valid drivers with a class B CDL  preferred and the ability to pass preemployment health and drug screening.  Candidate must be able to safely perform tasks to maintain the integrity of the City of Auburn’s Water System with an eye toward safety.  Experience in construction and the use of heavy equipment is appreciated.  Courses in advance mathematics and chemistry would  be desireable.  Must hold a State of Nebraska Grade IV Level Water Operator’s Certificate and State of Nebraska Grade I Wastewater Operator’s Certificate.   40-hour week, and on call.  Residency requirement – 15 miles from work location; competitive salary and excellent benefit package.
